He said that establishment of Sufi University at Bhitshah was aimed at promoting the philosophy of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) in the whole world to bring peace, interfaith harmony, love and affection.
This he said while talking to media men after laying chadar at the Mazar of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) to conclude his 269th annual urs celebrations on Sunday evening.
He said that it was only PPP that established Sufi University at Bhitshah under the directives of President of Pakistan to promote Sufism. He said that Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA) gave message of love and affection. He said that Sindh and Sindhi culture was beautified because of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA).
To a question about general elections, Shah said that the PPP was committed to conduct free, fair and impartial elections as per constitutional requirement. Similarly the caretaker government in centre and provinces would be formed with the consultation of opposition leader.
To another question about electricity disconnection of WASA, the Sindh Chief Minister said that he had talked to the Federal Minister Water & Power for restoration of the disconnected electricity lines of WASA. He said that every individual and institution has to pay the bills/outstanding of utilities similarly Sindh government was bound to pay the outstanding but at least they must know the actual amount of outstanding against the institutions.
He said that Chief Secretary Sindh has been directed to convene meeting of stakeholders for reconciliation of outstanding against the WASA.
Shah also inaugurated the project of repair & renovation of Shah-Jo-Bagh and laid the foundation stone of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Research & Music Academy in Bhitshah by unveiling the plaque.
